1. Thomas Chase Mead (August 31, 1890 - March 10, 1983)
2. Lucy Florence Mead (December 8, 1892 - July 1987)
3. Arthur Elwood Mead (September 16, 1896 - December 17, 1897)
Florence Sophia Chase Mead died on February 20, 1897 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois, of complications resulting from her recent childbirth. She was buried 3 days later in Cheyenne, Laramie County, Wyoming.

At Chicago, Where She had Been Under Treatment
The many friends of Elwood Mead will be grieved to learn of his wife's death at Chicago, where she has been under medical treatment for some few weeks.
Mr. Mead was summoned to the bedside of his wife of Wednesday, and left on the first train last night for the east. No arrangements have been made about the funeral.
A husband and three children are left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and kind mother. Mrs. Mead was a woman of rare virtues and attainments. Her loss will be sincerely mourned by a large circle of friends.
