"Delmore W. Bailey, 68, of Irvine, Calif., formerly of Cheyenne, died Sunday in Santa Fe, N.M.
He was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Cheyenne.
Bailey was an architect for the following firms: Porter and Bradley of Cheyenne; Leo A. Daly of Omaha, Neb.; C.J. Segerstrom of Costa Mesa, Calif.; and Project Control Inc. of Beverly Hills, Calif. He was the project architect for the following projects: the Werner Von Braun Space Center in Huntsville, Ala.; the Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln, Neb.; the school of engineering at the University of Wyoming; the South Coast Plaza Complex; the Twin Towers of Dallas; and the remodeling of the Los Angeles Airport. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1945.
Bailey is survived by his wife, Elaine Cash Bailey of Irvine, whom he married Nov. 16, 1946, in Cheyenne; one son, Matthew Bailey of Atlanta; one brother, Gene Bailey of Cheyenne; one sister, Lydetta Oswald of Seattle; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larkin and Iola Bailey; six brothers; and three sisters.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
