Services for Earl Jay Taylor, 80, of 3050 Snyder Ave., who died Monday at Memorial hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Masonic temple. Officers of Wyoming Consistory No. 1 assisted by Rev. Archie Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be at Beth El cemetery. Born in Baldwin, Kan., Taylor had been a resident of Cheyenne since 1918. He had been employed by the telephone company and the U.S. government 54 years in the communications field. He retired from the telephone company in 1952 and then worked as an instructor in communications at F.F. Warren Air Force Base. Taylor was a member of the First Christian Church, Cheyenne, Cheyenne Lodge No. 1 AF and AM, Wyoming Consistory No. 1, Teton Council of Telephone Pioneers, and Oak Leaf Chapter Six of the Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include his widow, Retta Taylor of Cheyenne; two children, Earl J. Taylor of Las Vegas, Nev., and LaDean Belt of Pasadena, Calif.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, Fay More, preceded him in death in September 1965. Friends may call at the Schrader Funeral Home. Published in the Wyoming Eagle, January 25, 1966
