Joan Louise Bachman was born in Hellertown, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, on March 12, 1926, the daughter of John Rentzheimer Bachman and Mary Louisa Ruth. She lived most of her life in Hellertown and was never married. She died at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, on December 8, 1996. She was my great-aunt, having been the young sister of my grandmother, Irene Ruth Bachman Parsons.
