Funeral services for Mrs. Jimmie Irene Wood Gay, 66, were held Friday, May 30 at the Wood Church of Christ with Bro. Odell Powell and Bro. Johnny Lance officiating. Burial was in Wood Cemetery with Woodbury Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Gay died Wednesday, May 28 following an extended illness. She was a native of Cannon County and was the daughter of the late James H. (Bunk) and Hassie Osment Wood. A member of the Wood Church of Christ, she was a retired employee of Carrier Corp. and was preceded in death by a daughter, Annett Gay; a sister Mamie Holder and three brothers, Shelah, Giles, and Lem Wood. Survivors include her husband James Gay of Woodbury; a son, Andy Gay of Woodbury; three daughters, Barbara Curtis and Becky Gay, both of Woodbury and Linda Blair of McMinnville; three brothers, Fisher, Malcolm and Willie Wood, all of Woodbury; sister, Eva Wood of Woodbury; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
