Uncle Jack Riddle Celebrates.
J.M. (Uncle Jack) Riddle of Margaret celebrated his sixty-second birthday July 29. His wife, who is 55 years of age, observed her anniversary only two days previously. His seven sons and four daughters were present and in addition three sons-in-law, five daughters-in-law, and fifteen grandchildren. In addition, the parents of Mrs. Riddle, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Lovell, of Margaret, were present upon the happy occasion, as very special guests.
Uncle Jack presided at the dinner which everyone agreed was splendid, the table fairly groaning beneath its burden of excellent and well-prepared food. The occasion was enjoyed by one and all, especially the widely-known head of this group of men and women all of whom are well-known and esteemed by the people of this section.
Six of the seven sons of uncle Jack are employees of the Alabama Fuel & Iron Co., and with their father make a total of seven persons from one family engaged in the laudable and hnighly important work of the production of coal. They are esteemed by the management of the company and have always been loyal and dependable members of the Alabama Fuel family.
