MR. TOM SUMMERS DIES MONDAY NIGHT
Monday night of this week (July, 1936) Mr. William Thomas (Tom) Summers dies at the home of his neice, Mrs. Marvin Juston Schmitz, near Air Mount, Yalobusha County near Coffeeville, Miss. Age about 70 years.
Tom as he was commonly known to his many friends in this (Yalobusha County) and Calhoun County, Miss., had by industry and frugal habits, accumulated fortue. Uneducated, not being able to sign his name except by his mark, He, by hard honest toil exceeded the average man with for better advantages. Being strickly honest himself and beliving others likewise, he had lost large sum of money on friends.
Mr. Summers had never married. He made his home in the eastern part of this county (Yalobusha) and the southwestern part of Calhoun County, Miss. He was well known and highly esteemed by all who knew him.
Interment was in the Pilgram Rest Cemetery, near Coffeeville, Miss., Yalobusha County, in the presentce of a large gathering of friends and relatives. One brother J. D. (John David) Summers, and a number of nephews and nieces survive.
Rev. J. A. McKibben conducted the funeral services. His death was cause by Malaria
