Theodore "Ted" Hale Anderson, 78, of Meridian, Texas, passed away Monday, August 18, 2008. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, at the Meridian First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.

Ted was born and raised in Ogallala, Nebraska. After school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in Japan and Korea. He married Dorothy Irene Swank on December 14, 1952. In 1982, he married Shirley Morris in Riverside, California, where he worked for the city of Riverside as Maintenance Supervisor for the Parks Department. He retired in 1990 and they moved to Meridian, Texas, in 1993. Ted was a member of the Meridian First United Methodist Church, the Iredell V.F.W., and the Moose Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Dorothy.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Meridian; sons, Kenneth L. Anderson and his wife, Cathy, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Melvin L. Anderson, of Meridian, David Saippa, of California and Larry Saippa, of Meridian; daughter, Evelyne Peters, of Meridian; 11 grandchildren; sister, Annette Eschen and her husband, Ed, of Wilcox, Nebraska; and brother, Kyle Anderson and wife, Dorothy, of Omaha, Nebraska.
