Waldemar Henry Henes was born in Amherst, Ohio a son of Henry and Martha Anna (Hahn) Henes. "Wad" as he was known, was born on February 1, 1908.

He worked for and retired from the National Tube Steel Mill in Lorain.

He married Marie Borman and she preceded him in death in 1972. They were the parents of 1 son, Gerald F. "Jerry" Henes who also preceded him in death.

After Marie's death he met and married Alice Louise (Lopatkovich) Messerole in 1975. Alice died in April of 2001.

"Wad" suffered a broken hip after a fall in his home. While he successfully survived the surgery to repair it, he died from a massive heart attack shortly afterwards while in the recovery room.
