On Monday March 19,1894, Matilda Pollard wife of R.H. Pollard, dies at their home on Upper Crooked River, and was buried in Mill Creek Cemetary the following Wednesday. Mrs. Pollard was 67 years of age and was the mother of Three children, only one of them, Wm. Pollard survives. For a number of years she had suffered from a cancer in the breast, which caused her death. Seventeen years ago, with her husband, she came to this county and by their mutual efforts they built up a pleasant and comfortable home about 40 miles SE of Prineville, but her death has left that pleasant home desolate.
Matilda Ann was the daughter of Richard Miller & Margaret Stanton
