Most of the following information I got from my grandmother, Kay Ringer, and from research by my husband, some of which (both) were undoubtedly gleaned from the Sizer genealogy book by Lillian Hubbard Holch.

Born May 10, 1707 on Terceiras Island in the Azores, Kingdom of Portugal, he was a shipbuilder and seaman who came to the U.S. in May 1726. He arrived in America Antonio De Zocieur, but there are recorded instances of alternate spellings: De Zoucieur, De Socieur, D'Zascieur, De Sosieur. Some time later "americanized" his name to Anthony Sizer, of which also there are various different spellings (Seizer, Sisar, Syzer, Sizar). Note: Back then there was no legal process to change one's name.

He married Sarah Tryon, daughter of a wealthy farmer, on May 10, 1727, and had the following children:

MARY, b. 3-3-1728, d. 11-22-1806
JABEZ, b. 9-27-1729 d. 1752.
ANTHONY Jr., b. 4-10-1731 d. 1731
ABEL, b. 5-5-1732 d. 3-21-1814
DANIEL Sr., b. 5-30-1734. Was a Lt. in the French and Indian War from 1755 to 1760, and died 11-4-1760. Buried next to his father.
LEMUEL L., b. 1-27-1736. Served in the French and Indian War in 1755. Died 12-23-1820.
SARAH, b. 12-21-1738, d. 1-15-1823
ANTHONY Jr., b. 12-18-1740; died in 1764 at sea.
JEMIMA, b. 3-20-1743; d. 8-19-1818.
SAMUEL, b. 11-30-1743, d. 9-23-1823. Buried in the Sizer Family Cemetery, George Lewis Farm, Steuban, Oneida, NY.
WILLIAM, b. 11-12-1746, d. 12-1-1826. Served in the American Revolution in 1772 in CT. Buried at Chester Center Cemetery, Chester, Hampden, MA.
(UNKNOWN CHILD) was born ca. 1747 but died the same year.

He is buried near his in-laws, Abel and Abiah Tryon, and his son, Daniel.
The cemetery was once referred to as Farm Hill Yard Cemetery.
