Thomas Jefferson Hoshaw married his first wife Martha Method in Shelby County, Ohio. They had their first child Ira was born in Shelby County, Ohio.
He later moved to Northern Indiana Noble and Elkhart Counties. His sister younger Mary Jane Hoshaw Smith was born in Ohio according to many records.
The 1850 census his parents and siblings living in Loramie Twp., Shelby Co., Ohio .
