Frances Elizabeth Webb was born in Tennessee, September 17, 1849, and departed this life March 9, 1950, in the Springfield Baptist Hospital, being 100 years, five months and 22 days old at the time of her passing.

Her family moved from Tennessee to Webb City, Missouri, when she was a small child and there she grew to womanhood.
She was united in marriage to A. J. Roweton in 1869. To this union were born six children, four sons and two daughters, four of whom still survive, they are Mrs. Rena Cornelius, Thomas J Roweton and David K. Roweton, all of the Halfway community and Mrs. Etta Fullbright of Portland Oregon. Two sons, Charles and Johnnie, preceded her in death. Soon after their marriage they moved to Eldorado Springs, MO, and later settled on a farm near Halfway, where her husband passed away in 1897. About 40 years ago she moved to her present home at Halfway, where she spent her remaining years.

She was very active for one of her advanced years, until about two weeks ago, when she was hospitalized from a fall.
Her daughter, Mrs. Cornelius has made her home with her mother the past 20 years.

Funeral services were held in the high school building at Halfway, Sunday, March 12, 1950, at 3PM with the Rev. C. B. Tucker officiating.
