Per "Souvenir of Texas Biographical Sketches," Sallie Mullens was a daughter of J.M. Kirk, of Franklin County, Alabama, a respectable, well-to-do farmer. Per one of her descendants, 'Mrs. S.G. Mullens,' was buried in the Caney Cemetery, Caney, Atoka Co. OK in 1906.
