George was the son of William and Margaret (Hensler) Chamberlain. He lived most of his early life at Welston, Jackson County, Ohio. His first wife was Rachel Jayjohn the daughter of Erastus and Mary Frances Jayjohn with whom he had 7 children, 4 of which survived to adulthood. Rachel passed away in 1899 probably during or shortly after the birth of her last child, Grace who was raised by Rachel's parents. After Rachel's death George moved to Boomer, Fayette County, W.Va. There he married Jane Ellen Jordan the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Archibald) Jordan. Jane passed away about a year after giving birth to their only child, Margaret Cathleen. He married a third time to Mary Alice Pritt-Conley the daughter of Daniel and Nannie Pritt. Mary had 1 daughter named Nannie at the time and she and George had 2 daughters of their own. Nannie may have been adopted by George because she always went by Chamberlain. George was Coal miner most of his life both in Ohio and W.Va. His third wife and at least 3 of his children are also buried in Mt. Lewis Cemetery, only one though has a Headstone still visible and that is Theodore Chamberlain from his first marriage. Note; George is listed in some documents as George T. and others as George H.
