Betty Barton Dies; Related In Rush County
Mrs. Betty Pruitt Barton, 85, of Indianapolis, a former Franklin County resident who was related in Rush County, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in University Heights Hospital.
She was born in Paris, Mich., on May 17, 1887, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Myers. One husband, James William Pruitt, died December 30, 1939.
Surviving are a son, Ferman Pruitt of Madison, Wis.; five daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Wood, Mrs. Thelma Kirby, Mrs. Mary Carter, Mrs. Vada Ladigo and Mrs. Carol Bauman, all of Indianapolis, nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the J. C. Wilson Chapel of the Chimes, 1234 Prospect in Indianapolis, where friends may call any time. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in southeastern Rush County. Moster and Sons Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
