Luvera L. Beck, 87, formerly of Bloomsburg R.R.1, died at 4:20 a.m. Friday, May 9, 1997, at the Bloomsburg Health Care Center, where she had lived for four years.
Born Dec. 14, 1909, in Sugarloaf Township, Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Daisy Kibler Eisenhower.
Beck was last employed at the former Maple Crest Nursing Home, Bloomsburg, and prior to that worked at Magee Carpet Co., Bloomsburg.
She also assisted her late husband in the operation of the family farm.
Beck was a member of the Bloomsburg Church of the Nazarene.
Her husband, Harvey E. Beck Sr., died April 27, 1985. Two sisters also died previously: Beatrice
Engman and Charlotte Lotempio.
She is survived by five sons: Walter Beck, Wolf Hollow Road, Bloomsburg; Harvey Beck Jr., Bloomsburg; Russell Beck, Bloomsburg R.R.1;Arthur Beck, Bloomsburg; and Edward Beck, Bloomsburg R.R.1; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dora Ryman, Nescopeck R.R.1.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Heller Funeral Home, Nescopeck, with the Rev. K. Lyle Artman, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Columbia Hill Cemetery, Bloomsburg R.R.3
