Caroline Boone was the daughter of Caroline Mariah* Boone, a slave of the Nathan Boone family, and said to be the daughter of Nathan Boone. Nathan, the son of the famous explorer Colonel Daniel Boone, was an early settler near Ash Grove.
On November 24, 1872, Caroline married William Huston Berry in Cedar County, Missouri, who established this "Holy Resurrection" (Berry) Cemetery in 1875.

*Mariah is the old-fashion way of spelling Maria, and in my research I have seen it both ways, depending on how the person writing it chose to spell it.
