Mrs. Amanda (Allard) Martin, 85, widow of Jean Baptiste Martin, and a resident of this city of the past 73 years, died last night at her home, 25 Jilson Avenue, after a prolonged illness.
She was born April 20, 1861 in St Eitenne de Bolton, PQ, Canada, and was a member of the Union of Prayer and the Ladies of St Ann's Sodality of Precious Blood Church.
She leaves five sons, Henri of Whitensville, and Adelard, Ovila, William, and Alfred, all of Woonsocket; three daughters, Mrs Florida Lamothe and Mrs. Arthur Desiltes, both of this city, and Miss Irene Martin of Philadelphia; a brother, Theodel Allard, and a sister, Mrs Phoebe Foster, both of Philadelphia; 31 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 8:45 from the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland Street, with a solemn high mas of requiem at 9:30 in Preciuos Blood Church. Burial will be in Precious Blood Cemetery.
