Thomas Emmett Hodgden, 58, a former resident, died yesterday at his home near Ava, Missouri, following a brief illness.

Mr. Hodgden, who owned and operated a dairy farm near Ava, was formerly associated with Ehrlich & Sons Wholesalers in St. Joseph.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Hodgden; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Williams, and Mrs. Gary Kerns, both of St. Joseph, MO; a son, Thomas Hodgden of Las Vegas, NV; 6 sisters, Mrs. John (Ernestine) Hibler, Mrs. Robert Manford (Nellie) Ray , Mrs. James Clinton Anna Webb, all of St. Joseph, MO, Mrs. Raymond Eugene (Dorothea) Dillon Sr., of Winterport, ME, Mrs. Charles Everett Rachel Morton, of Skidmore, MO, and Mrs. Vincent Leo (Jacqueline) Krogmeier, Amherst, Co; 4 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The body is at the Clinkingbread Mortuary at Ava, Missouri. Services will be Monday with burial in Mount Tabor Cemetery at Ava, Missouri.
