Doc Holliday stayed in Prescott about 1 year to gamble at the Palace Casino before joining the Earps in Tombstone.

LA Times August 26, 1931 Retired Merchant Buried Tommorow: Funeral services wille be conducted from Bresee Brothers Mortuary 855 South Figueroa street tommorow for John Roger Cate 77 years of age, retired wholesale merchant and resident of this city for the last forty- five years who died Monday at his home 4250 South Figueroa street Mr. Cate was a member of the First Metodist Episcopal Church. He leaves a son, Harry H. Cate, two daughters, Mrs. Neal Weaver and R.D. Hild, and a niece Miss Mildred Lind.
