Lance Cpl. Tony Mihalo, of Naperville, Illinois. He graduated from Naperville North High School in 2004, where he played defensive end on the football team. He joined the Marine Corps after having been impacted greatly by the September 11 terrorist attacks, and a great sense of pride in his country. He served in Iraq from September 2005 until March 2006 and again from April 2007 until January 2008. After the second tour, his family threw a welcome home party for him at Kendall VFW Post 3873. He was wounded three times by gunfire in 2005 while in Iraq, earning three Purple Hearts. Currently on his third tour of duty, he was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Twentynine Palms, California, he was expected home from Afghanistan in the fall of 2008. Tony was just a few credits shy of an associate's degree and wanted to earn a bachelor's degree in law enforcement and pursue a career as a police officer after the service. His family received the fourth Purple Heart earned by Tony at his funeral. He is survived by his mother Debbie (Bill) Wolfe of Naperville, IL his brother Michael Mihalo and his sisters Barbara and Christine Wolfe. His fiancée Megan Allen, her sister Dana Allen and her parents Dick and Cindy Allen of Naperville, IL. Numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
