Spanishburg - Kenneth Lee 'Red' Dove, 70, of the Bluestone Road, Spanishburg, died late Tuesday evening, Oct 5, 2004 in the arms of his loving wife after a long and tenacious battle for life came to an end at the Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, VA

Born Sept 8, 1934 at Blacksburg, VA, he was the son of the late Walter Lee and Violet Jones Dove.

Mr Dove graduated from Princeton High School, served his country for four years with the US Army.

Mr Dove began his career with the Gordon Food Company, Roanoke, VA as a sales representative and later joined the Conwood Corporation, Memphis, TN from 1960 until his retirement in 1990. During this time, Red was the outstanding sales representative for his company in his region. Mr Dove loved people, he never met a stranger, nor would he be too busy to stop and help those in need. He took great pride in the manicuring of his yard and growing vegetables in the garden. Even though he traveled with his career, he was an avid traveler with his wife, always seeking new horizons around the bend of the road.

He was a member of the Fairview Christian Community Church, Princeton and many sales executive organizations in the area.

Left to cherish his memory, his loving and caring wife of 42 years, Sharon Ann Jennings Dove; his son, Bill Joe Bailey of Charleston, SC; two grandchildren, Brendan Kyle Bailey and Dustin Tyler Bailey; a sister Phyllis Fulcher and her husband Clarence of Princeton; a niece, Jeannie Saunders and her husband Butch of Princeton; his faithful and loving daughter, Angel; and his closest friend, S.T. Stokes of Atlanta, GA.

We will celebrate the life of Kenneth Lee 'Red' Dove at 1p.m. on Monday, Oct 11, 2004 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with the Reverends Larry Dyer, Archie Bowling and Jimmie Jones officiation.
