Son of Nathan Rushing and Della Tackett Rushing. He was a forklift driver at Whirlpool Corp in Fort Smith, of the Assembly of God faith and an Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Sue Nead; two sons, Albert and James Rushing; four stepsons, James and Stanley Hise, Freddy and Hank Sutphin; a sister, Pauline Best; three brothers, Warren, Dole and Bill Rushing; 29 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on September 6, 2007. Pallbearers were Richard and Damon Brannam, Jeremy Covey, Hank and Freedy Sutphin and Rick Burrows.
