Rachel Simpson Stegall, 88, of 27 Greentree St., Collinsville, VA died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Golden Living Center, Martinsville.
Born July 22, 1920 in Lee Co., NC, she was a daughter of the late William Simpson and Ally Horton Simpson and was the wife of Emerson T. Stegall who survives. Mrs. Stegall was preceded in death by three sisters, Alma Coley, Grace Horsley and Geneva Holman and by two brothers, Ed Simpson and Farris Simpson; one Grandson, Jason R. Stegall.
Mrs. Stegall was a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church.
In addition to her husband of the home, Mrs. Stegall is survived by a daughter, Donna S. Martin of Hardy, VA; three sons, Jerry L. Stegall of Martinsville, Benny R. Stegall of Bassett and Joseph L. Stegall of Collinsville; one sister, Jackie McCollum of Martinsville. There are nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren surviving and a best friend, Dot Stegall of Collinsville and special family member, Wanda Horsley.
The funeral will be Monday, July 28, 2008 at 2:00 PM from Stone Memorial Christian Church with Minister Tim Wood and Minister Lawrence Harris officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
