Willie Roy Asbury, Jr., 64 of Conway, SC, died September 21, 1985, at a local hospital.
A native of Andersonville, GA, he moved to the Brown Swamp community at an early age. He was a retired farmer and a member of the St. James AME church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Asbury; five daughters, Mary Jane Asbury, Jennie Bell Asbury, Vivian Bennett, and Willis Ann McCray, all on Conway, SC, and Cora Watkins of Westwood, NJ; three sons, Rev. Willie R. Asbury, Jr., Tommy Asbury, and Charles Asbury, all of Conway, SC; three sisters, Julie Mae Nelson of Americus, GA, and Josephine Higgins and Lillie Mae Asbury, both of West Palm Beach, FL; five brothers, Jimmy Asbury of Andersonville, GA, Paul Asbury and David Asbury, both of Detroit, MI, Roy Asbury of Miami, FL, Tommy Asbury of Atlanta, GA, and Johnny Asbury of West Palm Beach, FL; and fifteen (15) grandchildren.
