Armstrong, Lucretia Mae (nee Palermo) passed away on Aug. 10, 2008. Loving wife of the late Charles 'Ed' Armstrong; dearest mother of Glenn 'Mick' McGuire II and Sharon Santell (nee McGuire) and her late husband James; dearest grandmother of Sara, Glenn III, Mark, and Grace McGuire and the late Dana Santell; dearest great-grandmother of Chase Sivils; dear sister-in-law, cousin, aunt, great-aunt, and friend to many. Lucretia was born in St. Louis on Sept. 4, 1927. She enrolled in the Cadet Nurse Corp for training at St. Louis City Hospital but WWII ended before she could serve. She worked at St. Louis City Hospital for several years as a registered nurse before moving to Kirkwood and becoming an operating room nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital. She changed to Industrial nursing and finally retired from Chrysler Corp. in 1985. She had truly found her calling and loved nursing. Special thanks to Pathways Community Hospice for the kind and thoughtful care given to our mother the last few months of her life.Services: Memorial Service Thurs. 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood, 100 E. Adams Ave., Kirkwood, 63122. Interment following at Bellefontaine Cemetery. Arrangements by BOPP Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
