MRS. MARY E. CARPENTER PASSED AWAY AT HOME
Aged Resident Dies at Home on Hutchins Avenue Following an Illness of but a Few Days.
Mary E. Carpenter, aged 73 years, wife of Andrew Carpenter, 603 Hutchins avenue, died at the family home Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 following a short illness.
….Burial will be at the Second Mount Pleasant church, southeast of Franklin.
Mary E. Applegate Carpenter was born July 22, 1844. On April 28, 1861, she was united in marriage to Andrew Carpenter. To this union were born 10 children, one of whom died in infancy. Surviving her are Mrs. J. E. Tanner and Mrs. E. E. Keith, both of this city; Mrs. J. A. Dickey, Atlanta, Ga.; Martin L. Carpenter, New York and Clarence and Virgil Carpenter, both of Anderson, Ind.
