Wheatley, Elaine M. Saginaw, Michigan Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother and sister passed away on Tuesday August 12, 2008 at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Centre. Age 84 years. Elaine M. Granger was born on May 15, 1924 in Saginaw to the late William and Caroline (Schwartzly)Granger. She married Edwin A. Wheatley on May 8, 1943; he survives her. Elaine was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Centre. Surviving besides her husband, Edwin are her children: Carol (Greg) Moore, Sr. of Royal Oak, MI; Larry (Sue) Wheatley of Lewisville, TX; Donald Wheatley of Saginaw; and Thomas Wheatley, Sr. of Saginaw; seven grandchildren: Christine Pabian, Greg (Jennifer) Moore Jr., Jason (Heather) Wheatley, Jeanette Garpiel, Chloé Wheatley, Thomas Wheatley Jr., and Karen Wheatley; seven great-grandchildren: Austin Pabian, Baylee Pabian, Hunter Garpiel, Jacob Garpiel, Greg Moore III, Owen Wheatley, and Gabriel Wheatley; a sister, Doris (Ray) Oehring, a brother, William (Elaine) Granger, and a daughter-in-law, Vickie Wheatley. Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws and good friends. FUNERAL: Elaine's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2008 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street. Rev. Randy Kelly will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, August 14, 2008 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Elaine will lie in state at the church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
