=======================================

Jehiel Clark (John, John, John, Thomas, George), born at Milford, Conn., Jan. 23, 1756, died June 25, 1816, aged 60 [List of Deaths in West Haven, Conn., kept by Lucena (Stevens) Smith]; married Patience Sanford, born circa 1760 [Sanford Gen.], died probably Aug. 1841 [Lucena Smith Rec.], daughter of Nathan and Abigail (Tibbals) Sanford.
His will, dated Feb. 13, 1816, proved in 1816, names his wife and the eleven sons and one daughter listed below [N.H.P. 28:30]. Proof of marriage is found in Milford Land Records [17:217].
He lived for some years at Plymouth, Conn., he and his wife being admitted to the church there July 6, 1800. On Feb.25, 1796, Jehiel Clark of Plymouth sold land as administrator on the estate of "Lydia Tolls" of Plymouth; and May 10, 1796, "Sally Tolls" of Watertown [Plymouth L.R. 1:57, 58]. The Tolles women were his sister and niece. The latter deed was misdated as it was recorded Feb. 25, 1796, and it was doubtless drawn by or before May 1795, the date when the new town of Plymouth was set off from Watertown.
