She was born on October 14, 1920, in Bolivar County to George W. Tedder and Virginia Wilson Tedder. She graduated from Boyle High School in May 1940. She married Lavell Brown in 1940 and they were blessed with two daughters Betty and Cathy. She started her career at Baxter in the early 1950s; later retiring from Misceramic Tile. She married Herbert Burns on October 4, 1983, in Greenville. She served her Lord at Morrison Chapel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was a devoted mother, friend and mentor to many.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herbert Eugene Burns, daughter Cathy Whitehead, one grandson and four sisters Luna Warren, Myrtle Crawford, Robbie Warren and Gladys Harper.
She is survived by daughter Betty Junkin (Roy) of Cleveland, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Junkin, Roy Junkin Jr., Don Lindsey, Tom Wiggins, Glen Fisher and Donald Gant.
Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of Morrison Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Morrison Chapel Building Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
