The funeral was held at 2:00 on Wednesday, April 6, 1927 from the Christian Church, where he was a member, and services were conducted by pastor A.A. Doak. His pallbearers (members of the board of directors at the church) and hymns (“Savior More Than Life To Me” and “Higher Ground”) were chosen by him when he knew death was approaching.
Death was not unexpected as he had been critically ill for some months. He was born November 3, 1873 in Scotts Valley and lived in the west for his whole life.
Left to mourn his passing were his wife, (Mrs Laura Fees), two daughters (Mrs Harvey Meador & Mrs Jack Lang, both of Ukiah), three sisters (Mrs John Felger of Corning, Mrs C M Dyer of Manteca & Mrs Sarah Hedges, no location listed), and two brothers (Albert Fees of Lake County & Alfred Fees of Idaho).
