Virginia Frances Powers, 86, of Rockville Road, Quicksburg, died Saturday, March 22,2003, in Shenandoah Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Quicksburg Sept 20, 1916, a daughter of the late Michael M and Nellie Price Lloyd.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. at Valley Funeral Chapel in Bowmans Crossing by Pastor Freddie Hensley. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.
Mrs. Powers worked for the Aileen plant for 25 years and was a supervisor. She was a member of Liberty Brethren Church in Quicksburg and was a caregiver for many years. She was a member of AARP, a member of Shenandoah County Senior Citizens and the Ladies' Bible Study Group.
Surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth P Stover of Marion,Iowa, Ella Mae Weatherholtz of Quicksburg and Elaine P Smoot of New Market; two sisters, Lillian Litton of Quicksburg, and Ruth Ellis of Ocala, Fla; four brothers, William Lloyd, Russell Lloyd and Herman Lloyd, all of Quicksburg, and Everett Lloyd of Broadway; six grandchildren, Richard Stover, Kim Burner, Teresa Trible, Debbie Stover, Kevin Weatherholtz, and Angie Lutz and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her first husband, Lorenzo Golladay, and second husband William W Powers; a sister, Mary Lloyd; two brothers, Thomas Lloyd and Fred Lloyd, and a great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel and would like memorial donations be made to Liberty Brethren Church Building Fund, 2199 River Road, New Market, Va. 22844.
Pallbearers will be Darren Burner, Jeff Lutz, Duane Stover, Scott Proctor, Willie Meadows and Bobby Lloyd.
