John M. Salm was a son of Johann Gerhard Salm and Theresia Mosburger. He was born in Bamberg, Wilmot Township in Ontario, Canada. Birth Register #036487.

He married Paulina Schlumkousky on May 07th 1907 at St. Louis R.C. Church in Waterloo. Marriage Register #020729.

They had 4 children, born to them in Waterloo.
1. Edward Charles Salm 1908-1973. (single).
2. Marie A. "Mamie" Salm 1915-1981 m. (Edgar Fisher).
