Bryan Charles Blake, 31, died peacefully on August 9, 2008, at home in Gillette, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born on July 10, 1977, in Rawlins, to Gary and Deborah (Calkins) Blake.

He graduated from Campbell County High School in 1995, where he was active in soccer and a member of the traveling soccer team.

He later attended Full Sail Real World Education School in Orlando, Fla., graduating in 2005, with a degree in digital media.

He married Jessica Boone on May 12, 2006, in Lander.

His favorite pastime was working on his vintage Volkswagens.

He loved the New Jersey Devils Hockey team and was an avid fan of the Pittsburg Steelers.

His other interest were art, photography and the outdoors.

He also liked to collect PEZ candy dispensers.

He worked for the Campbell County School District for many years.

He worked as an aide at Paintbrush, Sunflower and Wagonwheel Elementary Schools, Twin Spruce Junior High and Campbell County High School.

He felt a strong connection to children.

At the time of his illness he was employed by the Casper Star Tribune.

He is survived by his parents, Gary and Debby Blake of Gillette; wife, Jessica Boone and cat, Daisy both of Gillette; brother Chris Blake and his wife; maternal grandparents, Chuck and Janet Calkins of Cheyenne; one niece; one nephew and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carroll and Harriette Blake, and his best buddy, his beloved black lab, Kyzyl.

Upon his wishes a private cremation service has taken place.
