Rev. Fred Marvin Baker of Marble Hill died Oct. 9, 1993 at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was 79. He was born April 13, 1914 in Bollinger County, son of Samuel and Janice Eaker Baker.
He married Veda Gaines June 27, 1936.
Rev. Baker started preaching in 1949. He was ordained July 29, 1950 into the Old Liberty Association. He pastured churches for 35 years and was a moderator for the Old Liberty Association 12 years.
Survivors are his wife, two sons, and daughters-in-law, Clifford and Louise Baker of Troy, Mike and Pat Baker of Oran; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bob Stevens of Wentzville and Kay and Ray Glasstetter of Chaffee; nine grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
Rev. Baker was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, one granddaughter, and 10 sisters and brothers.
Services were held Tuesday at Baker Funeral Chapel. Rev. Bobby Robbins and Rev. Rudy Pittman officiated.
