Son of Isaac Newton Asplin and Nancy Charlotte Doty. Was divorced from Stella Asplin Eagan who shares his grave marker. They remained together even though they were no longer married. He married Rachel Mae Stroup and they had two children--Leo Ulysses (1928-1965) and Charles Frank Asplin who was born in 1927.
