Dr. Robert B. Strother, Husband of Eloise Krank Strother, at the Brandon Woods Retirement Community in Lawrence, Kansas.
He Was Born in Grayson, KY., the son of Wick Horton Strother and Inez Wilhoit Strother. Dr. Strother Grew up in Grayson and later graduated with his medical degree from the University of Louisville. He Served as a U.S. Navy flight surgeon during World War II and later retired as a Captain from the U.S. Naval Reserves. After leaving active duty, Dr. Strother practiced medicine in Toledo, Ohio as a general surgeon for 31 years at St. Luke's Hospital, where he served as chief of staff. He retired in 1993 and moved to St. Petersburg, Flordia where he remained until moving to Lawrence, Kansas in March of 2008. Dr. Strother was a member of the Shriners for many years. He was also a member of the America Medical Association. In Addition to Mrs. Strother, he is survived by one daughter, Dr. Myra Strother of Lawrence, Kansas; two sons, Robert B. Strother, JR of Cleveland, Ohio, and John P. Strother of Houston, Texas; one brother, Jack W. Strother of Grayson, KY.; one sister, Wickliffe Loomis of San Diego, California; and two grandchildren. Kendall Gooden and Virginia Strother.
