Clarence F. "Jake" Hineline, 94, of East Stroudsburg, died Thursday morning, February 21, at Golden Living Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of the late Iva M. (Ace) Hineline who died August 16, 2007.
Born on November 24, 1913 in Bushkill, he was a son of the late Frank and Emma (Ace) Hineline and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
He was a tractor trailer driver for over 42 years having worked for Harold Miller, John Bachman, Graver's, Nolan's, Peoples Coal and A.M. Price.
Jake was an official NASCAR mechanic and was a fiddler having played with the Nauman Brothers band and other square dance bands in the area.
Surviving are a son, Clarence D. Hineline, Sr., of Stroudsburg; two grandchildren, C. David Hineline, Jr. and his wife Donna, of Saylorsburg and Darlene Perry and her husband Lonnie, of Brodheadsville; five great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two nieces, Helen Wallace and Rose Lee, both of East Stroudsburg and two nephews, George Freeman, of Oklahoma and Harlen Hineline, of Henryville. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Freda Freeman, Elsie Hineline and Levi Hineline.
There will be a viewing on Monday, February 25, from 12:00 to 1:00PM at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. The funeral service will be at 1:00PM Monday at the funeral home followed by burial in Sand Hill Cemetery, Middle Smithfield Township.
