Mrs. Stinnett was a lifelong resident of Yancy Mills. She attended Greenwood Elementary and graduated from Lane High School.
She earned her LPN, and was employed at Martha Jefferson Hospital where she worked for 40 years, primarily with newborns and their mothers.
She also served as a private duty nurse to the Hutchins family at Blue Ridge Farm in Western Albemarle.
Mrs. Stinnett was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church where she was active in the women's missionary society and Sunday School classes.
Mrs. Stinnett was preceded in death by her husband, James Judson Stinnett of Buchannan.
She is survived by her son, Judson Lee Stinnett and his wife, Bunny Stinnett; two grandchildren, Judson Lee Stinnett of Wingina, and Steven Lawrence Stinnett of Charlottesville; and two great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include a nephew, Gerald L. Kirby of Charlottesville; and three nieces, Carol Ann Georgis of Toano, Doris Marie Stovall of Bluefield, W.Va., and Anna Lou Schaberg of Richmond.
A funeral service was held Aug. 2, at Hillsboro Baptist Church with the Rev. Alan Thompson officiating. Interment was at the churchyard, immediately following the service.
