Last rites for James W. McCool, 71, who died Monday, July 15, in the Welborn Baptist hospital, Evansville, Ind., were held at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, at Mt. Zion Baptist church in the Rock community.
Mr. McCool had been in declining health several months.

Son of John and Frances Grisham McCool, he was born, Sept. 21, 1891, at Eddyville, Ill. On March 17, 1911, he was married to Effie Parmley, to which union five children were born.

Spending his early life in Pope county, Mr. McCool later moved to East Moline, Ill., where he was employed by the International Harvester Co. until his retirement in 1951. Following retirement, he retuned to Pope county.

Survivors include his widow, Effie; four children, Adolph, Mrs. Jeanette Lockwood, Mrs. Ida Louise Hull, and Mrs. Bobbie Loding, all of East Moline; a brother, Ben McCool, Metropolis; two sisters, Mrs. Millie Raney, Metropolis, and Mrs. Minnie Buster, East Moline; half-brother, Francis (clipped article ends abruptly)


James W. McCool was born on Sept. 21, 1891 in Eddyville, Pope county to John Wesley and Almedia Frances Grisham McCool (daughter of Andrew Jackson Grisham and Ruphal Upha Eupha Whiteside). He died about 1965. He was buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Pope County, IL. He was married to Effie Edna Parmley ( daughter of Allen Parmley and Anna Mary Richerson) on 17 Mar 1911 in Paris, TN. Effie Edna Parmley died about 1978. She was buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Pope Co., IL. James William McCool and Effie Edna Parmley had the following children: Mary Frances McCool, James Adolph McCool, Jeanette Anne McCool, Ida Louise McCool and Bobbie Lou McCool.
