"Ten Women Nominated as Choices for "Business Woman of the Year"

Mrs. Ruth Tune, who is sponsored by the Lions Club, is presently employed as secretary at the First Baptist Church. She is married to George E. Tune, Chief Petty Officer USN.

She joined the USN WAVES in 1944. She completed a course in nursing at the Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

She is a member of the TLPNA and Local Area 21 of the Licensed Practical Nurses Association, having served as president and secretary of the local group.

She is involved in many church activities.

She worked for Goodlark Hospital for twenty-one years as an LPN, and for the past five years she served as department coordinator and purchasing agent.

Services for Ruth Jane Tune, 76 are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2000 in the chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Chatham and Dr. Don McCoy officiating. Interment follows in Union Cemetery mausoleum.

Mrs. Tune died Monday, April 3, 2000 in Humboldt General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Harold A. Fyellman and Lyda H. Hutchison. She was retired from Jackson Clinic and Goodlark Hospital as a nurse and secretary of First Baptist Church in Dickson, where she attended church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Eli Tune.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
