Born October 29, 1918, in Carlshend, the daughter of Alfred and Bessie (Stambaugh) Erickson, Bea was raised in Carlshend and was a graduate of Gwinn High School. Her early employments included working as a housekeeper and cook for the Rose Family in Marquette, later moving to Illinois where she served as a housekeeper-chef for the well-to-do Finn family. While there, she had the privilege of serving dinner to Helen Keller.
Bea returned to Michigan during World War II, working at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti as an electrical engineer in the bomber plant. Here, she trained crews the schematics of the B29 Flying Fortress.
On August 18, 1951, Bea married David Anderson at her parent's home in Carlshend. Bea's interests centered on her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was always willing to try new things and took a class in cake decorating, becoming very proficient in the art, and providing many special cakes for family and friends. In her leisure, she also enjoyed sewing, baking, flower gardening, and reading poetry. Bea was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gwinn.
Survivors included two sons, Joel (Diana) Anderson and Alfred Anderson both of Little Lake; a daughter, Delphine (Enrique) Saa of Lubbock, TX; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her brother, Joe (Sue) Erickson of Carlshend; numerous nieces and nephews; and very special lifelong friend, Elsie Ollila of Skandia.
In addition to her parents, Bea was preceded in death by her husband, David Anderson; a daughter, Gayle Louise; two brothers, Edward and Conrad Erickson; two sisters, Adelaide Johnson-Orr and Montel Lee.
