John "Clarence" Adams was a son of John "Marvin" Adams and Mary "Effie" (Heddins) Adams. His paternal grandparents were James A. (Jim) & Ella V. (Lewis) Adams, and his maternal grandparents were Isaiah Lafayette Heddins and Julia Ann (Ballard) Heddins.

After finishing high school, Clarence went to college for a year. Family members recalled Clarence to be a very intelligent man.

Clarence Adams enlisted in the U.S. Army to fight in World War II on 27 Feb 1942 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was a Private in the Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers, USA. According to his military enlistment records, in 1942 Clarence Adams was 5' 9" tall and weighed 153 lbs.

Clarence Adams never married and had no descendants.
