Services for Clifford Lee Holt, 77, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Nalls officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Born on Jan. 7, 1929, to William Ira "Babe" Holt and Nettie Anna Belle Stidham Holt, he died on May 28, 2006, in Purcell. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ward "Son" Jasper Stanley Holt, James Eugene "Bunk" Holt, and William "Bill" Holt; and a sister, Ruby Holt Redmon.
He was former owner of Holt's Grocery and ABCO Termite and Insulation Company. He enjoyed his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, playing cards, dominoes and fishing. His marriage to Callie D. Thompson on Feb. 28, 1950, in Gainesville, Texas, ended in divorce.
Survivors include a son, Clifford Ray Holt, and wife, Sherrie, Ardmore; four daughters, Janette Holt, Shepherd, Texas, Nina Holt, and husband, Steve, Guthrie, Hazel Van Buskirk, and husband, Dennis, Purcell, and Penny Bates, and husband, Dalbert, Lone Grove; a brother, Andrew "Andy" Hanner Holt; 13 grandchildren, David Holt, Ira Holt, Waylon Holt, Matthew Holt, Jeremy Howell, Misty Wise, Patrick McDonald, Jared Knapp, Jayson Southerland, Jennifer Donathan, Heather Haskins, Natasha Cornish, Chandler Ned, Justin Ned and Chelsea Ned; and 11 great-grandchildren.
