SIKESTON - Elmer Maurice West, 76, died Thursday, Dec. 8, 1994 at 8:55 p.m. in the Sikeston Health Care Center.
Born June 26, 1918 at Lepanto, AR. He was the son of the late Joseph Anderson and Ollie Prince West. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ola Marie Forrest West. Which he married April 5, 1941 and died Nov. 2, 1987. He was a retired auto mechanic of Anderson Brothers garage of St. Louis.
Survivors include his present wife, Hazel Hardin; one son, Baylis Maurice West of Defiance; one daughter, Vernetta Camille "Camy" West of St. Peters; three sister, Edith Lyons of Jonesboro, AR, Velma Nelson (twin) of Valpariso, IN, and Vera (Peg) Carroll of Lake Villa, Il; three grandsons, Maury Bargetzi, Jeffery and Steven West; four granddaughters. Karen Goewert, Tammy Bergetzi, Marla Wolfmeier and Vicki Ventimiglia; two great-granddaughters, Deanna Bargetzi and Brittney Ventimiglia.
Also Mr. West was preceded in death by two brothers, Alva and Monroe West and one sister, Lula Griffith.
Pallbearerers are Maury Bargetzi, Jeffery and Steven West, Rich Wolfmeier, Arthur Ashcraft and James Arethur West.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Sikeston from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Chapel with the Rev. Hershel Godair, pastor of the Portageville Pentecostal Church, officiating.
