She was most proud of her sons. They, and her grandchildren, truly were her world.

Elaine Patricia Altherr (nee Charrette) was born October 24, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to Exias and Pearl Charrette. She passed away on August 6, 2008 in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Elaine married her beloved Robert (Bob) on October 15, 1966. Together they had four sons, Bo (Sandy), Dan, Dave and Tom. She is also survived by their grandchildren Brady and Samantha and her brothers Ken and Don Charrette and numerous nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Bob on March 13, 1989.

While Elaine was a homemaker residing in Novi for much of her adult life she had previously worked for American Airlines and the La-Z-Boy Company. She loved to travel and has been to Hong Kong, Alaska, New Zealand, Germany, Hawaii and many other locations. She loved classical music as well as the "Rat Pack". She was a great fan of Gregory Peck. She enjoyed collecting figurines, especially elephants and pigs.
