Dr. Samuel Wesley Spitler was the son of Andrew Spitler and Prudence Niswonger and the husband of Lola Carroll. In summer, 1914, he and his wife Lola took a long vacation to Europe. He was the local surgeon for the Sante Fe and C.R.I. and Pacific Railroad. In 1924 he was a Kansas delegate to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to his medical practice he served as a director for the local Wellington, Kansas bank.
