Carrol Arthur ( also called Carrel Arthur ) was the son of John Arthur and Elizabeth Betsy" Greer. He was a wagon maker who lived in the Smyrna community in Independence Township on the Middle Fork of the Illinois Bayou. He was married to Lucinda E. Crouch on October 12, 1843 in Pope, Arkansas ( Book "A" Page 65 ). She was the daughter of John and Sarah Crouch. Her father operated the first grist mill in Pope County. Carrol Arthur and Lucinda had the following children:

9. Caledonia J. Arthur ( 1861-1936 ) was married to James Reason Edge on January 16, 1879 in Pope, Arkansas.
10. Loucinda Carol Arthur ( 1863-1942 ) who married Wiley Goodin Hughes on September 17, 1882 in Pope, Arkansas.
