Mrs. Rebeccca Jane Brookshire was born in Phelps Co., MO. on July 4, 1858 (tombstone has 1859) and passed away suddenly at the home of her grandson, Melvin Keeney east of Rolla on at noon Thursday, Feb. 24, being at the time of her death 85 years, 7 months and 20 days of age.
Following the death of her husband in 1929 she has spent the greater part of her time with her children, making her home with the daughter, Mrs. Mary Bray of Rolla, the greater part of the time.
She was the mother of 7 children, 2 having preceded her in death. She is survived by 5 daughters: Mrs. Effie Shrader, Mrs. Pearl Perry, Mrs. Mary Bray, Mrs. Catherine Pelozari and Mrs. Maude Robbins. Also a great number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Burial was made in the Beulah Cemetery under the direction of the Null & Son Funeral Home.
